Edwin Erminy is an architect, scenographer and writer. He holds an MA in Scenography (with distinction) from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. He has designed over 100 productions for theatre, musicals, opera, ballet, modern dance, popular music and corporate events throughout Latin America, the United States and Trinidad and Tobago.
In his native Venezuela he was the artistic production manager for the Teresa Carreño Opera House as well as technical director for the Caracas International Theatre Festival and the Afro American Traditions Festival. In 1999 he founded Opera Transatlantica, a multicultural creation project based in Caracas and London. For Opera Transatlantica he has written two award-winning plays, “Variations on a Baroque Concerto” and “Rondó Adafina, a Sephardic Soup”. He is currently assistant professor of Scenic Design at the Academy for the Performing Arts/UTT.
