Dr. Shirlene Holmes is a playwright and professor at Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA, where she has been on faculty in the Communication Department since 1989. Her award winning dramatic works have been produced on local, national and international stages. Holmes, who is originally from Queens, New York, holds undergraduate and advanced degrees in Theatre and Communication (Speech, Performance Studies). She is also certified in a major and a minor in African American Studies as well as being an ordained minister. One of the highlights of her career is having directed and presented CARNIVAL MEDEA: A Bacchanal in Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland – August 2015.
